Water Melon Peals kofte

Ingredients For Kofta

  • Water melon peals light green portion
  • Besan for binding (5-6 tablespoons)
  • Salt according to taste
  • 2 green chillies finally chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dhania powder
  • Oil for frying the koftas

Ingredients For Gravy

  • 2 onion cut into pieces
  • 3-4 tomatoes cut into pieces
  • 5-6 garlic crushed or paste
  • 1” ginger paste
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 5-6 cloves
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 1/2 “ stick dal chini
  • 1/2 teaspoon bhuna jeera powder
  • 1 teaspoon kasuri methi crushed
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Kashmiri mirch
  • 1 tablespoons cashew paste (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 bay leave
  • 1/2 teaspoon jeera

Method

Cut the water melon, separate white or light green portion, grate it in grinder or by grater. Squeeze it mix besan , add all the ingredients of kofta , make sure that besan should be bind kofta. Now heat the oil and fry the kofta in medium flame. Now take a kadai put 2 tablespoons oil, add jeera, cloves, bay leave, cardamom, dalchini, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, green chillies add onions stir till it turns into light brown, add tomatoes,salt stir till the tomatoes get soft , separate bay leave, cool the masala then grind it in the grinder. Now take the same kadai add 1 teaspoon oil add Kashmiri mirch put grinded masala add bhuna jeera powder mix well put one cup water cook for 3-4 minutes add kasuri methi, now put koftas in the gravy, garnish with green coriander leaves serve hot with chapatis or paratha.
