Litti Chokha


  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3 tablespoons ghee or refined oil
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon ajwain crushed
  • Water
  • 400 gm chana sattu
  • 2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • Salt according to taste
  • 3- 4 green chillies
  • 1 fine chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons acchar ka masala
  • 2 teaspoon mustard oil
  • 1 teaspoon redchilli powder
  • 2 teaspoon amchurpowder
  • 3-4 tablespoons water


Take flour, add salt, ajwain, ghee, mix well, put water gradually and make a soft dough like paratha dough. Cover the dough and keep it rest for 15 minutes. Take a bowl put sattu, add salt, chilli powder, amchur powder, ginger garlic paste, green chillies, mustard oil-and achar masala , put chopped onion also mix all the ingredients well now add little water so that masala should be little soggy. Cut the dough into equal portions and make it round-balls, take one ball make like katori then fill sattu masala in it and make it like a ball. You can make litti in tandoor or in appa maker. Dip all the litti in ghee and make it in slow flame.

Chokha ingredients

  • 2 big brinjals
  • 8 tomatoes
  • 8 boiled potatoes
  • 3-4 green chillies
  • 2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • Salt according to taste
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Fine cut coriander leaves
  • 2 teaspoon mustard oil


Wash the brinjal and tomatoes, put mustard oil with the help of brush or hand to all the tomatoes and brinjals. Keep the jali On the flame ,put brinjal and tomatoes in it and coo it by turning in low medium flame. When it gets become black-put off the gas. Take a bowl put boil potatoes, mash it then peal brinjal and tomatoes and put it in-the same bowl , mash all the things with the help of masher add salt , cut green chillies, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice , mustard oil ,chopped coriander leaves, mix all the things well . Chokha is ready .
