Instant Jalebi

Juicy Jalebi


  • 400 gm sugar/ 2cups
  • 200 gm water/1 cup
  • 100 gm flour/1 cup
  • 4 Tbs curd
  • 1 Tsp baking powder
  • 2 drops of orange food color
  • sprinkle of Kesar
  • 1/2 Tsp lemon juice
  • Desi ghee


Take a deep bowl and add sugar along with water in it. Boil it at high flame till the sugar melts. Add 1/2 tsp of lemon juice to ensure the sugar does not crystallize. Then add a pinch of Kesar to give a yellow texture to the jalebi. Boil the mixture in medium-low flame, till the solution becomes sticky, then put off the gas. Take a separate pan and add desi ghee to fry jalebi at low flame. Take a bowl, add flour and curd. Stir it well while adding water to the mixture. Now add food color and baking powder to make a semiliquid smooth paste. Pour the mixture in a plastic cone and conceal properly. Cut the tip accordingly and squeeze the batter in a circular motion to make your delicious jalebi. Once the jalebis are fried properly, dip them in hot sugar syrup till the syrup fills in(approx 5 min) to make juicy jalebi. Serve Hot.
