Baked Vada Pao


  • 400 gm all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt or according to taste
  • 11/2 tablespoons oil
  • 100 ml curd

Mix maida, salt , baking powder , baking soda well add curd mix well, put milk gradually and make soft dough now spread one tablespoon maida in platform and knead the dough with the help of oil, knead it 10 – 15 minutes, dough is soft like roti dough cover the dough let it rest for 20 minutes.

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoons garlic ginger paste
  • 7-8 potatoes boil & mashed
  • 1 teaspoon green chilly paste
  • 2 onion chopped
  • Coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt according to taste
  • Note- mix all the above ingredients
  • Take one tablespoons oil in kadai
  • 1 teaspoon rai
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal dhuli
  • 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
  • 8-10 curry leaves chopped
  • Note – make seasoning add it to potato mix, add one teaspoon lemon juice. The vada filling is ready.


Now take a dough , knead it for 2-3 minutes, now divide the dough-into 8-9 equal portions make round flat balls sprinkle dry maida in rolling board and roll a dough 1/2” thick now put filling 1/2” down coat the water with brush in three side of filling roll it half tightly remaining half make cuts with knife , the filling portion is look like gujhia shape coat water in the upper side of filling then-cover it with cut strips, let it rest for five minutes cover-it with cloth . Pre – heat your microwave at 180* c keep the pav in greased tray coat it with milk. Bake it at 180* c for 30-35 minutes. Take off from microwave coat it with butter , cover it with-cloth serve after five minutes.
